Alternative and Modern Rock |
Radio Free Baltimore is a local Baltimore band that is a reformation of two Baltimore bands from the early 90s; Total Harmonic Distortion (ThD), a local cover/original band that regularly played the bars of Fells Point (EJ Buggs, Max’s on Broadway); Water Street (Peter’s Pour House); and Annapolis (Armadillo’s) and X’s for Eyes, an all original band that recorded two albums and regularly played some of the local Baltimore original venues: 8x10, the Rage, and the Bank among others. After taking a few years off to work on other projects, the band reformed as Radio Free Baltimore, focusing on upbeat alternative rock music. The range of music covers songs from the 80s through the music of today, allowing the band to market to various types of jobs/formats based on the clientele. After starting back up as Radio Free Baltimore in about 2011, the band played regularly at Peter’s Pour House on Water Street and could also be seen at the Whisky in Annapolis as well as other clubs and venues around the Baltimore area. In 2014, the band played regularly at Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore and in 2015 added Catonsville's Frederick Road Friday music concert series to its resume. In addition to these local clubs and venues, the band also plays a variety of private and charity events as well as fairs (including the Anne Arundel County Fair in 2013/2014) and is a seasonal staple at the Allied Binding Company's Raven’s Tailgate in the Fall.
